Medical transcriptionists held about 105,200 jobs in 2008. About 36 percent
worked in hospitals and another 23 percent worked in offices of physicians.
Others worked for business support services; medical and diagnostic
laboratories; outpatient care centers; offices of physical, occupational, and
speech therapists; and offices of audiologists.
